Modified P-51 Racer

Following info provided by Mark Bednarczyk
This plane is Racer
38, owned by Ron Buccarelli. It was once owned by the Whittington bros. and was
named "Precious Metal", and sponsored by World Jet. At Reno,
2001, it still carried Precious Metal. The fuselage was polished aluminum,
and the wings were a gaudy lime green. The powerplant was a Roll-Royce
Griffon turning contra-rotating props. If you look closely, you'll notice
that the second set of props are chopped shorter than the front ones. Also
of note is the smooth finish of the wings. Nothing protruding to effect the
smooth air flow.
There is more available on the plane
elsewhere on the internet. I suggest you check Pylon1.com

If you feel there is a need for descriptions for this walk around, then feel free to type them up and quote the photo numbers above and forward the descriptions to Steve Bamford, so they can be put up into this walkaround. We could really use our viewers help with this. An expert on this aircraft could write much better descriptions than we could.
